fall is here

fall is here from the ct fish and wildlife Stocking of Atlantic salmon into the Naugatuck and Shetucket Rivers is just around the corner. The declaration which defines the regulations is now posted on our web page (link below). When fishing for Atlantic salmon, a fly or artificial lure with a single free swinging hook must be used. Traditional jig heads are not allowed. The fishery is catch and release only until December 16, 2022. The Fisheries Division specifically produces these fish to provide a unique fishing experience. These salmon are not part of any restoration efforts, as the Federal program ceased in 2013 after decades of attempt.
